Stephen came to visit on Whale Fest weekend.And we went to visit the whales. In kayaks. We paddled out into the channel, looking for spouts, saw some and headed their direction. And they came ours! It was so incredible, these slow rolling backs, with the humpback ridges. We saw the tails a few times, too. Meg was freaking out the entire time- if the whales had breached near us we would have capsized into hypothermic Alaskan water.
