The Carribean of the Southeast

Yup, thats me above in the blue, a peace loving Jesuit volunteer on an Alaskan island beach beside four men with weapons. Why am I the only one smiling? There we go, thats more realistic.

:)

A few weekends ago we headed out for a day on the beach, Southeast style, boating out to the Chai Chi Islands (sp?). I couldn't get over the beautiful clear green-turquoise of the water. No one agreed with me that it looked like the carribean (" Um, maybe... but where are the palm trees, Eileen?") but this is my blog and I still found it remarkably carribean-esque, so there. Many thanks to my friend Aaron Routen for the amazing photography. All of the pictures are his!
