Snow Dusting

Hello Friends!

A fellow JV in Bethel, Alaska has a fantastic blog, North To The Future, that I've really been enjoying reading. She notes the sunrise, sunset times for every time she posts. Its great context, so I am going to follow suite. Yay Erin!

October 10, 2008
Sunrise: 7:17am (Eileen awoke 7:30am, so still after the sunrise :)
Sunset: 6:21pm

Forecast weather today: 45F and sunny! Note the variation from the constant summer forecast, the perpetual 55F and rainy. Biking to work today was a strange bodily experience: my wet hair and head were freezing cold, with the wind blowing through my helmet holes, but I was pumping the pedals furiously to make an 8am appt, so I was sweating like mad! I was like the mountains that perch on every horizon here: they are freshly tipped with snow, like Anne's pancakes after she dusts them with powdered sugar. My top was cold, but still warm around the base.

PS. Note that I added a couple postings that I started a few weeks ago, so they are published below ones I started later, but posted earlier. That made no sense, at all, but look for more September postings that were just added :)
