First doctor's visit
From a week and a half ago: Well, Eileen has been sick with a sinus infection for the past week, and is finally facing the reality of going to the doctor's. I'm sharing this, because I got a kick out of seeking medical care in a small town, and how many people here are connected to the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. When I called a local support person (she's our adopted grandma here in Sitka), I asked her where I could go, and there were two options: one where she didn't like one of the doctors, and the other where I already met one of the doctors at a house party because his son is a current roommate of a former Jesuit Volunteer (JV) here. When I arrived, I saw Bridget, who is a former JV over a decade ago, and it turns out, this is where she does her physical therapy work.
Then, the doctor who saw me was from Fairbanks, AK, and said he knew JVs up there! Must have been a while ago, since there aren't any there now. Oh, and the receptionist was good friends with the receptionist where I work. I didn't know anyone at the pharmacy, though :)
